HVS Open Show 2019 - Judges Critiques

Hungarian Vizsla Society Single Breed Open Show 03.11.19
My thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge this lovely breed, and to the stewards on the day, I thoroughly enjoyed the day and had my hands on some lovely dogs. Thanks to all the exhibitors for your entries.
Minor Puppy Dog 1 1.
Carters Facanvadasz Andris Pleasing youngster at 6 months, has a good
head of correct proportions, eyes still to darken, balanced angles fore and aft,
very much a baby on the move, just needs time and practice to tighten that up. BPIS
Junior Dog 1.1
Watsons Oakswarren Loki. Was slipping badly on this surface and not surprisingly lost confidence on the stand, shame as he was a good type and sound on the move, with a reachy stride, hope it doesn’t put him off in the future. Grateful to my steward who
brought her own mat to the ring for future classes, thank you.
Post Graduate Dog 3 (1)
1. Cruickshanks Topaeris Shadow Had a clean outline with good neck, well-laid shoulders, level topline with depth of brisket to elbow, preferred his rear movement
going away. 2. Harrisons Alfizsbet Pike O’Stickle Von Argyros Good coat and colour,
has depth and forechest but dropped his topline on the stack, was happier moving and
showed some reach in front.
Limit Dog 4 1.
Miles Layways Van Winkle JW Shown in fit, hard condition and well-muscled all
through, balanced angulation fore and aft, low set hocks and stands on good tight feet.
Movement was lovely to see, it was effortless and smooth, with front extension and drive
from the hindquarters. I would ideally like a bit more work in his head but he was on top
form here. BD & BIS.   2. Barwicks Bequerelle Vagabond Clean in outline, good reach of
neck into shoulder and moderate tuck-up, liked head proportions and expression, had a
level topline but not as positive as 1 on the move. 3. Dorogis Nemzet Kincse Orion
Open Dog 4 (2) 1.
Harpers Sh Ch Magnus Fortuna Pitswarren JW Mature male with lovely
head, dark eye and clean strong neck into a well-laid shoulder. Well sprung in rib with
short loin, strong hindquarters and well muscled throughout, just preferred movement of
LD .  RBD 2. Bornett & Leighs Roughshoot Ishmael. Didn’t enjoy the flooring here, and not
alone in that. Pleasing head, eye and set of ear, moderate throughout with balanced
angles fore and aft, shown in good coat & condition
Field Trial Dog 2 (1)
Harris Szajani Szeder Strongly made dog with depth of brisket and forechest.  Moved positively coming and going away with precise foot fall. Well ribbed back and
good hindquarters. BFT
Minor Puppy Bitch 1. (1)

Junior Bitch 4 (1)
1. Barnards Daxpack Dakota Pretty feminine bitch liked the work in her head
and expression, moderate tuck-up, still to drop in brisket as she matures, moved out well
for her place here. 2 Harpers Pitswarren Sorbonne , unsettled here, nice size and colour,
good in outline, balanced angles and well-muscled , low hock to floor and stands on good
Feet. 3. Harris & Kleinmans Goldstar Miss Teeq From Szajani (Imp USA)
Novice Bitch 6 (2) 1 Gottliebs Russetmantle Cala Has good forechest, front assembly and
correct length & return of upper arm, strong hindquarters used well on the move. 2.Harris
& Kleinman Goldstar Miss Teeq from Szajani Pretty bitch who showed better in this
class liked her size and colour, unexaggerated angulation behind, stands over her ground
well. 3. Gottlieb’s Russetmantle Coral
Post Graduate Bitch 6 (2)
1. Dorogis Daenerys Z Labske Lhoty Really liked this workmanlike bitch, she’s so balanced with lovely angles , not overdone at all and moved out soundly to head this class, shame she was carrying too much weight after an injury.  2.Walfords Piroskutya
Delphinus Sweet bitch, stands on lovely tight feet, has good headpiece with dark eye and balanced with good angulation 3 Gottliebs Russetmantle Cala
Limit Bitch 8 (1)
A lovely class to judge. 1 Bradleys Highforce One Vision Lovely profile outline
on this feminine, elegant bitch, correct bone , covers the ground well when going round
the ring and is true coming and going away. 2. Price’s Aldom Rose Fizz BE JR CH Nicely
put together, liked her proportions, strong arched neck into correct front assembly, well
sprung in rib & short loin, very stylish. 3. Dales Arany’s Balatino With Laurelset
Open Bitch 6 (2)
1. Sh Ch Vizslanya Vivmany By Highforce JW Sh CM Sh CX Looked a picture,
here, loved her head, dark eyes and expression, has balance and elegance, well-muscled
behind and correct amount of bone, covers the ground with ease, pleased to award her
BB, RBIS & BOS close decision for top spot, thought she matched and complimented the
winning male in the challenge. 2. Watsons Oakswarren Everglow (AI) Well shaped body
with depth of brisket, short coupled, firm level topline, with good rear assembly she
stands over her ground well. 3 Cruickshanks Topaeris Summer Love
Field Trial Bitch 3 (2) Mills Karrouki Windrush D’Lyla JW Sh CM Liked her forechest, reach of neck into shoulder, length and return of upper arm, moved on a good stride with precise
footfall.
Veteran Bitch 9 (1)
A class full of quality and soundness 1. Walls Sh Ch Afanleigh Sophie At
Perllanside Sh CM, Lovely bitch from nose to tail, sweetest of heads with correct head
planes and proportions, just right in muzzle, she’s made right and therefore moves so
soundly round the ring. Pushed hard for top spot, really liked her. RBB 2. Bradley's Highforce Midnight Star by Viszaset JW ShCm Well built with strong arched neck, brisket down to
elbow and a moderate tuck up, well-muscled hindquarters and balanced front and rear,
3 Prices Sh Ch Aldom Cristal
Brace 4 (1)
Yarnleys well-matched pair, moved out well together 2 Mills brace were raring
to go but kept pace with each other 3 Dorogis

This is Jo Wall's  PIROSEG MANDARIN OF PERLLANSIDE JW

The photo should be celebrating her other bitch SH CH AFANLEIGH SOPHIE AT PERLLANSIDE ShCM  who was Best Veteran, and should have been the subject of this photo.  Still well done to both, good day at the office as they say.
